Important areas of research activities of the department are
- study of morphofunctional changes in the interaction of a transplant and various implants with biological tissues;
- study of the interaction of laser and LED radiation between artificial, biological materials and body tissues from the point of view of healing of surgical wounds;
The head of the department in 1978-2021 was Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor I.M. Baybekov. During this period, more than 35 doctoral dissertations were defended, including 6 in the field of pathological anatomy.
Also, more than 100 candidate dissertations and their pathomorphological parts were completed, and more than 700 scientific articles were published, including more than 100 in foreign scientific journals.
To date, the department, together with the department of experimental surgery, as well as clinical departments of a number of centers and other centers and institutes, has published more than 15 parts of candidate and doctoral dissertations, more than 75 articles in scientific journals of foreign and domestic publications, as well as 3 monographs, and received more than 5 copyright certificates.
List of services offered
The service "Department of pathohistological, morphological and scientific research" consists of three functional units:
- biopsy;
- cytology;
- analysis of research materials.
- The department was originally called the "Department of Pathological Anatomy" and was established in 1976 on the basis of the surgery center;
– Since 2022, the department has been named the "Department of Pathohistological, Morphological and Scientific Research" and continues its activities.
– The department annually performs morphological analysis of about 9,000 clinical and about 200 scientific biopsy and cytological materials.
– The main staff of the department consists of 11 employees, including 2 doctors, 5 laboratory assistants and 3 junior medical staff.
– Our specialists are periodically sent abroad for advanced training and education.
