At our center, in the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation No.1, under the supervision of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor M.M. Akbarov, another successful liver transplantation from a living related donor was performed.
The patient, Dustova D., born in 1984, from Uzun District, Surkhandarya Region, suffered from liver cirrhosis of viral etiology (HBV + HDV). The disease was accompanied by complications such as portal hypertension, hepatosplenomegaly, esophageal varices, and ascites. At our center, endoscopic ligation of 9 esophageal varices trunks was previously performed (on October 17, 2025).
The donor was the patient’s son Khusanov I., born in 2006.
The surgery was successful and without intraoperative complications. The postoperative period for the donor was uneventful — he was discharged from the hospital on the 8th day in satisfactory condition.
The recipient’s condition after the transplantation is stable, and the function indicators of the transplanted liver are satisfactory.
This operation once again confirms the high professionalism of our transplant team and the continued development of the living donor liver transplantation program in our center.
