A forum titled “Uzbekistan — Kazakhstan: Cooperation in the Field of Medicine for the Health of the Population” was held in Tashkent. More than 120 representatives of the brotherly country participated, discussing prospects for bilateral relations.
Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is based on friendship and good-neighborly principles. Thanks to the efforts of the leaders of both nations, strategic partnership and allied relations are steadily developing.
In particular, cooperation in the healthcare field has been strengthening year by year. The Kazakhstan Medicine Days, held in Uzbekistan, are a logical continuation of this collaboration.
Highly qualified specialists from Kazakhstan visited medical institutions in Samarkand, Bukhara, and Fergana regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Over four days, they conducted 444 medical consultations, 64 surgical operations, and 57 seminars and master classes in cardiology, neurosurgery, traumatology, urology, oncology, gynecology, pediatric surgery, endocrinology, and other areas.
Joint high-tech surgeries were also carried out at the National Medical Center and specialized institutions.
The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan delivered four mobile medical complexes equipped with mammography, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, and laboratory equipment. Using these, 1,240 residents of Syrdarya and Jizzakh regions underwent primary medical examinations.
During the forum sessions, experts from both countries discussed the use of modern technologies in performing high-tech surgeries, the development of innovations, and establishing cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Medical education professionals exchanged views on strengthening academic mobility and exchanging knowledge and skills.
At Tashkent State Medical University, representatives from seven Kazakh higher education institutions organized a student science olympiad and sports competitions, and the winners were awarded during the forum.
A number of memorandums were signed between medical universities, research, and specialized medical centers of the two countries.
