Dr. Sayed Khalid Rashid, a cardiac surgeon from Afghanistan and head of the Cardiovascular Diseases Department at Al-Hayat Hospital, visited the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Surgery named after Academician V.V. Vakhidov.

The guest was received by the Surgery Center's chief physician, Professor Ruslan Efimovich Ligay. During the visit, the Afghan specialist was introduced to the Center's activities, its clinical capabilities, and the organization of cardiac surgical care.

Dr. Sayed Khalid Rashid also participated in a coronary artery bypass graft performed through a mini-thoracotomy approach.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation and the exchange of experience between specialists.

Such visits are consistent with the policy of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at developing good-neighborly relations, expanding cooperation with countries in the region, and strengthening ties in medicine, education, and trade.
