The V. Vakhidov Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Surgery has been regularly performing kidney transplants for ABO-incompatible patients (i.e., patients with mismatched blood types) since 2023. To date, the center has successfully performed over 30 such surgeries.

It is known that the main difficulty with such transplants lies not so much in the surgery itself as in the proper immunological preparation of the recipient, as well as in the competent management of the postoperative period and the organization of ongoing monitoring. For this reason, these patients are regularly monitored by the center's specialists.

As an example of such monitoring, the following patients who underwent ABO-incompatible kidney transplants underwent routine examination at the center yesterday:

— S. Zh. (born 1993). Recipient: I (O) Rh+, donor—sister II (A) Rh+. The surgery was performed in 2024.

— K. R. (born 1995). Recipient: II (A) Rh+, donor – father III (B) Rh+. The surgery was performed in January 2025.

During the examination, the patients' general condition and graft function were assessed. Stable condition and positive dynamics were noted.

This once again confirms that the advanced transplant technologies used in our country produce effective results.
