The Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Surgery named after Academician V. Vakhidov has officially entered the era of robotic surgery. In 2025, the Center acquired and by December 29 fully installed the MP-1000 surgical assistant robot by Edge Medical—one of the most advanced systems in its class.
A new operating room has been prepared for the launch of this technology, featuring modern surgical lighting, high-precision operating tables, upgraded engineering systems, and conditions that meet international standards. This is not merely an equipment upgrade, but a comprehensive modernization of the entire surgical environment.
Staff training is already underway.
Before the New Year, two specialists from the Center completed training in a specialized simulation center on operating the MP-1000. Currently, three more highly qualified surgeons are undergoing training. Upon their return, joint robotic surgeries are planned with the participation of leading specialists from China, ensuring knowledge transfer and demonstration of advanced techniques.
This is not just a robot—the MP-1000 transforms the very approach to surgery.
The surgeon gains a new level of control, while the patient receives a new level of safety.
Movements become exquisitely precise, visualization becomes three-dimensional and highly detailed, and the procedure itself is as minimally invasive as possible. Where extensive intervention was once required, today minimal access is sufficient. Less trauma means faster recovery, shorter hospitalization, and better outcomes.
