The robot-assisted surgery program is being successfully continued at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Center of Surgery named after Academician V. Vakhidov.

Yesterday, January 16, 2026, the Center officially announced the successful completion of the first two robot-assisted surgeries within the state healthcare system of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The first patient, from the Namangan region, was diagnosed with a tumor of the rectosigmoid colon and successfully underwent robot-assisted surgical treatment.

The second patient, a resident of Tashkent city, was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and also successfully underwent robot-assisted surgery.

Today, the robot-assisted surgery program continued in a consistent manner.

The third patient was from the Surkhandarya region,
and the fourth patient was from the Tashkent region.
Both patients successfully underwent robot-assisted surgeries. The condition of all patients is stable, and the recovery period is proceeding under constant medical supervision.

It is especially important to note that all of these patients belong to a preferential category, and the surgeries were performed free of charge at the expense of the State Medical Insurance Fund. This represents a practical outcome of the healthcare reforms being implemented in the country and the state policy aimed at ensuring equal access to modern high-technology medical care for the population.

The introduction of robot-assisted surgery has become possible due to the high professional capacity of the Center’s specialists, international cooperation, and strong government support. Today, the Republican Center of Surgery named after Academician V. Vakhidov is entering a new stage of development, strengthening its position as one of the leading high-technology medical centers not only in Uzbekistan but also in the region.
