- Related liver transplantation;

Diagnosis and surgical treatment of complications of portal hypertension inpatients with liver cirrhosis and extrahepatic forms of portal hypertension;

- Operations on liver and pancreatic tumors: from palliative to radical resection interventions, including pancreatoduodenal resection and large-scale liver resection operations;

- Reconstructive and restorative operations in benign biliary tract pathology;

- Conventional and laparoscopic operations in primary and recurrent forms of parasitic lesions of the abdominal organs;

- Laparoscopic interventions in cholelithiasis and its complications, diseases of the liver, abdominal and retroperitoneal cavities and other diseases.

Detailed description

  • About the department

    - The department was established in 1984 on the basis of the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery with the Liver Surgery Group of the Surgical Center;

    - For the first time in Uzbekistan, under the leadership of Academician F.G. Nazirov, many complex areas of abdominal surgery were introduced and developed - reconstructive and restorative operations on the biliary tract, radical surgical interventions in patients with liver and pancreatic tumors.

    - In November 2006, together with Academician S. V. Gote, the first operation to separate conjoined twins with a liver, unique in world practice and the only one in the Republic of Uzbekistan, was performed.

    - More than 1,000 high-tech operations are performed annually on all organs of the abdominal cavity;

    - The department's team consists of 7 surgeons.

    - The department is designed for 40 places.

    - Specialists are sent abroad for training/advanced training every year.

    - Independent and joint operations on related liver transplantation are regularly conducted with colleagues from the CIS countries.
