New frontiers of cooperation!

After lengthy online negotiations between the leadership of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center named after academician V. Vakhidov and the hospital “The Second Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine” in Hangzhou, (Second Hospital Branch of Zhejiang Medical University), on organizing cooperation in the field of organ transplantation as well as holding master classes in our center, an agreement was reached for a visit of the Chinese delegation to Uzbekistan, to the surgery center.

Thus, on March 11, 2024, as part of the organized “Chinese Medicine Week”, a visit was made by a delegation from a Chinese clinic, consisting of 17 highly qualified doctors, under the leadership of the president of the above-mentioned institution, Prof. Wang Weilin, together with the heads of departments of the clinic. A solemn signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two centers took place, in the presence of the acting. Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Uzbekistan, Mr. Wang and representative of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan Sidikov A.E.

After familiarization with the center, lectures were organized where doctors of our center, cadets, and clinical residents heard reports on the activities of the department of hepatobiliary surgery (liver transplantation) and the department of urology (kidney transplantation).

As part of the delegation's visit to our surgery center, in collaboration with Uzbek and Chinese specialists, liver transplantations from a living relative donor are planned for both adults and children, as well as kidney transplantation from a living relative donor.
