Department of Clinical Biochemistry and Microbiology

The range of performed studies includes general clinical blood and urine tests, determination of more than 40 enzymes and substrates in blood serum, lipid spectrum; "global" and special tests for evaluation of the hemostasis system and monitoring of antithrombotic therapy, effectiveness of antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy; analysis of electrolytes and blood gases with determination of deep oxygen status; determination of markers of viral hepatitis, TORCH infections, hormones, tumor markers, cardiac markers, preclinical diagnostics of coronary heart disease and circulatory disorders, markers of inflammation and oxidative stress, cytokines, drug monitoring of immunosuppressive therapy (tacrolimus), extended immunogram by flow cytometry, a wide range of bacteriological studies with identification of pathogens and determination of antibiotic susceptibility. Complete laboratory monitoring of donors and recipients of kidney and liver lobe transplantation.

Scientific potential of the department: the department staff defended 4 doctoral and 9 candidate dissertations, published more than 1000 scientific papers, 6 monographs and manuals, Project I of the Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Uzbekistan, more than 30 methodological recommendations and information letters, 23 author's certificates and patents for inventions

  • About the department

    The department has been operating since 1974, when the Center was founded.

    The department was the first of similar departments in the Republic of Uzbekistan to be certified by the UzGosStandart (Certificate of Attestation No. 137 dated 24.12.2001). The department has established and regularly carries out in-house and interlaboratory quality control of the studies performed in accordance with international standards.

    The department employs 9 doctors and 11 laboratory assistants. The department performs more than 1,300,000 studies per year, including hematological, cytological, general clinical, biochemical, immunochemical, immunological, and bacteriological tests.

    The department is equipped with high-tech equipment: automatic biochemical and hematological analyzers, analyzers of gases, electrolytes and blood metabolites, IHLA, IFLA, ELISA analyzers, automatic coagulometer with the ability to determine individual plasma blood coagulation factors, D-dimer, natural blood anticoagulants and components of the fibrinolytic system, flow cytometer, automatic bacteriological analyzer, automatic urine analyzer.
